GOH is a small management consulting firm supporting the federal government since 1997 (www.gohnow.com). We are seeking an energetic new team member experienced in Federal grants management to support our Office of Head Start client.
GOH is recruiting in anticipation of potential future openings that are subject to final approval and funding. No guarantee of position availability can be made at this time; however, candidate identification and preliminary interviews are being conducted to support timely hiring should authorization be granted.
Job Objective:
The Administrative Assistant’s key function is to help support the Office of Head Start Customer Service regional teams in daily and weekly administrative functions.
Essential Functions:
- Meeting coordination and logistics, note-taking and documentation, inquiry routing, scheduling support, data entry assistance
- Provides administrative support to regional and headquarters Customer Service contract and federal teams, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, note-taking, and preparing documents
- Maintain and track meeting action items through completion
- Assist with data entry tasks
- Route inquiries to appropriate offices/staff
- Lead and assist with creating PowerPoint presentations, Excel files and other common technology tools for business meetings and others documents as required
- Draft and proofread correspondence, reports, and presentations
- Maintain and organize important documents, files, and records, ensuring confidentiality and easy access when needed

Competency (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create professional reports, correspondence, presentations, and spreadsheets
- Experience in data entry and the use of web-based software, data management platforms, and organizational database systems to accurately maintain and manage information
- Demonstrates the ability to collect, aggregate, analyze, and present data from multiple sources to support reporting and informed decision-making
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, producing clear, accurate work products
- Maintains professional interactions with clients, partners, and colleagues
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, effectively prioritizing multiple assignments and meeting deadlines in fast-paced environments
- Works effectively both independently and collaboratively to support team initiatives and organizational goals
- Consistently follows established policies, procedures, and quality standards to deliver accurate, reliable, and consistent results
- Maintains a professional demeanor and positive work ethic in all aspects of performance while supporting organizational operations and client relationships
- Demonstrates confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive information and records
- Ability to pass background investigations as required for access to federal facilities and systems; position requires Public Trust clearance
Work environment: The work environment is a typical office setting or virtual/remote setting.
Physical demands: The physical demands of the job include sitting for extended periods, and occasional walking and standing.
Position type and expected hours of work: This is a full-time non-exempt position. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday, 40-50 hours per week. Some job activities may be required outside of typical workdays/hours. Overtime is expected during peak periods.
Travel: 5-10% local and regional travel, with overnight stays necessary
Required education and experience: Associate’s degree required
