Position Summary
The Senior Quality Engineer will provide guidance and support to various Departments within the company, helping to ensure that customer specifications are met according to our QMS and AS9100 standards throughout the manufacturing process. This will involve interaction with all Departments, from Sales at order inception, through Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review contract and highlight for Quality Requirements (DFAR, NADCAP, RoHS, FAI, ATP, QTP etc.) for specialty metals and processes.
- Review ECRs and work with Design Team and Procurement to ensure that the Quality requirements are being met.
- Work with Operations and Engineering to resolve and document deviations from standard methods and procedures. Perform check on compliance regarding requirements like DFAR, RoHS, REACH, NADCAP etc.
- Manage non-conformities; specifically helping to reduce number of non-conforming products, through working with suppliers and responsible people within REC/HXI to deliver highest quality parts and products to manufacturing department as well as to customers.
- Responsible for supplier quality certifications.
- Work with Production staff to ensure proper procedures are followed according to the QMS
- Be part of Quality Clinic to train Manufacturing and Engineering during root cause investigation
- Serve as the quality department’s representative to internal and external stakeholders; responsible for the department’s performance, and for leading, directing, and developing the work of assigned quality department staff.
- Help to maintain AS-9100-ISO quality system and certification. Be part of the internal and external audit teams.
- Support sales by reviewing customer specifications to ensure compliance and help with costing for quality related functions like thermal shock, vibration etc.
- Improve quality of products and process by FMEA analysis and implementation. Review and improve process controls in Engineering and Manufacturing.
- Attend internal and external customer and supplier quality related meetings and audits.
- Work with Management to complete FAIs and other Quality related documentation (ATP, QTP, etc.), and maintain broader documentation control in accordance with AS9100, customer, and internal requirements.
- Coordinate and maintain calibration of instrumentation and records of such activities, with the assistance of Production Technician
- Periodically audit incoming and outgoing inspection activities and results
- Responsible for writing of test procedures, specifically for Space applications
- Responsible for maintaining training documentation and records.
- Responsible for setting priorities for the Quality Team.
- Conduct quarterly management reviews.
- Understand, comply with, and enforce Safety policies and procedures; maintain related Safety documentation.
- Maintain control of documented information, including ECRs and safety-related records, per AS9100.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: College degree required
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering degree preferred
- Masters degree preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering preferred
- Experience in AS9100/ISO manufacturing environment preferred
- Knowledge of FMEA/PFMEA processes preferred
- OSHA 30 certified preferred
