At Maine Veterans' Homes, our mission is Caring for Those Who Served. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the overnight shift, you'll play an important role in keeping our residents safe, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the night.

What You'll Do as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Working alongside nurses and other members of the care team, you'll provide hands-on care and monitor the well-being of residents throughout the overnight hours.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personal care, including toileting, repositioning, grooming, and other resident needs
  • Assisting residents with safe transfers, repositioning, and mobility
  • Making regular rounds and monitoring residents for safety and comfort
  • Responding promptly to resident needs and call lights
  • Observing residents and reporting changes in condition to the nursing team
  • Supporting restful nighttime routines while respecting each resident's preferences and dignity
  • Assisting with incontinence care and other overnight needs
  • Documenting care and observations accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment
  • Following infection prevention, safety, and confidentiality standards
  • Working collaboratively with the overnight nursing team

The right candidate is dependable, attentive, and compassionate, with a genuine commitment to providing excellent resident care.


Qualifications include:

  • Active certification on the Maine CNA Registry in good standing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Sound judgment and commitment to resident confidentiality
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English

Your Overnight Schedule


11:00 PM–7:00 AM

  • Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities available
  • Most schedules include every other weekend
  • Night shift differential may apply

Salary Description
$22.22 to $27.10 Hourly
