POSITION SUMMARY
The High School Director at Cherry Hills Community Church is a ministerial leadership role responsible for the spiritual formation, discipleship, and pastoral care of high school students in grades 9 through 12. This role exists to build Christ-centered relationships with students, parents, and volunteers while leading all high school programming, events, and ministry environments. Success in this role stabilizes and grows the high school ministry, strengthens volunteer leadership, and allows the Student Ministry team to thrive through shared vision and healthy delegation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, and pastoral care for high school students through teaching, prayer, mentoring, and relational presence in collaboration with the Student Ministries Pastor and Student Ministry team.
- Teach Scripture regularly through messages, Bible studies, and small group environments that align with CHCC doctrine and the shared vision of Student Ministry leadership.
- Lead and facilitate high school ministry programming, including Sunday services and midweek gatherings, in partnership with the Student Ministries Pastor and team.
- Serve as a key relational and spiritual leader for high school students, parents, and volunteers while operating within the broader Student Ministry leadership structure.
- Build intentional relationships with students through consistent engagement, one-on-one meetings, and pastoral conversations that support overall ministry goals.
- Recruit, train, equip, and shepherd high school volunteers and interns in collaboration with the Student Ministries Pastor and Student Ministry team, fostering a healthy culture of discipleship and servant leadership.
- Contribute to the development, contextualization, and implementation of curriculum and spiritual content within the direction, guidance, and approval of Student Ministry leadership.
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate ministry events including retreats, camps, service projects, outreach opportunities, and seasonal experiences alongside the Student Ministry team.
- Support and carry out high school ministry communication with students and parents, including emails, announcements, and approved social media, in alignment with Student Ministry communication strategies.
- Partner with parents to support the spiritual formation of their students through consistent communication, care, and guidance.
- Collaborate with the Middle School Director and Student Ministry leadership to support smooth and healthy transitions from 8th to 9th grade.
- Partner with the Student Ministries Pastor and Student Ministry leadership to support graduating seniors as they transition out of high school ministry.
- Manage administrative responsibilities such as scheduling, calendar planning, follow-up systems, and ministry documentation in coordination with Student Ministry processes.
- Steward ministry budgets responsibly by planning and executing programming within approved financial parameters and in alignment with Student Ministry leadership oversight.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide ministry leadership and oversight for high school volunteers and interns.
- No direct supervisory responsibility for paid staff.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Required
- A minimum of three years of experience in student ministry with direct responsibility for teaching, discipleship, and ministry leadership.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent ministry experience demonstrating preparation for pastoral and teaching responsibilities.
- Proven experience building and sustaining relationships with students, parents, and volunteers within a church setting.
Preferred
- Experience serving in a church with regular attendance of 1,000 or more, including navigating multi-staff and volunteer ministry environments.
- Formal ministry training, theological education, or seminary coursework.
- Experience leading or overseeing ministries serving 100 or more students.
QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCIES
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams); able to utilize standard tools for documentation, communication, and task coordination.
- Demonstrate proficiency with common office technologies, including email, printers/copiers, shared drives, and organizational software platforms; able to troubleshoot basic issues and learn new tools quickly.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and working under pressure.
- Available for evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
- Must be located in commutable distance to Highlands Ranch, Colorado, United States
- Must pass a CHCC background check.
