Credentialing Specialist
Description

The Credentialing Specialist, is an entry-level role responsible for assisting with the credentialing and re-credentialing process for Iowa Ortho’s providers, clinic staff, and surgery staff. This position ensures credentials are accurate, complete, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. Training will be provided to develop expertise in credentialing procedures and industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and submit credentialing and re-credentialing applications for providers, clinic staff, and surgery staff.
  • Maintain accurate and organized credentialing records and documentation.
  • Communicate with insurance companies, hospitals, and other entities to support the credentialing process.
  • Track and monitor expiration dates for provider and staff licenses, certifications, and other required credentials, including mandatory reporter training and professional certifications, ensuring timely renewals.
  • Track and maintain records of continuing education (CE) requirements for providers and staff, ensuring compliance with licensing boards and organizational policies.
  • Learn and apply credentialing regulations, payer requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Respond to credentialing-related inquiries and assist providers, clinic staff, and surgery staff as needed.
  • Oversee Eagle Training compliance training, including tracking completion status, ensuring deadlines are met, and providing necessary support to employees.
  • Support administrative tasks related to credentialing, including data entry and file management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn and follow credentialing procedures and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Prior administrative or healthcare experience.
