1st Shift Operations Lead (Vane/Nozzle Cell)
Description

Position Summary:

The Day Shift Lead provides hands-on leadership for the Vane/Nozzle Cell, coordinating daily priorities to ensure safe, efficient, quality production while meeting customer delivery and job cost targets. The position reports to the Supervisor. 


 Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead daily cell activities and prioritize work based on customer requirements and production schedules to meet safety, delivery, quality, and cost targets. 
  • Monitor WIP, job progress, labor hours, and ensure level workload in the cell. 
  • Coordinate with S&I, Engineering, Quality, Machining, Coating, and Heat Treat to resolve issues and keep jobs moving. 
  • Ensure required technical data, drawings, routers, work instructions, and inspection requirements are available before work begins. 
  • Ensure team compliance with company policies, procedures, and ISO requirements. 
  • Ensure accurate labor charging and job documentation. 
  • Train and cross-train employees and provide hands-on technical support as needed. 
  • Maintain 5S, housekeeping, and safe working conditions in your area. 
  • Identify staffing, equipment, material, and process issues and escalate them to the Supervisor. 
  • Strong interpersonal relationships and able to work hands-on with the leading team. 
  • Other related duties assigned by management
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED or vocational/technical school training required
  • 3+ years of experience in turbine component repair, manufacturing, machining, welding, or related industrial environment. 
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, routers, tech sheets, and work instructions. 
  • Previous leadership or lead experience in a production environment preferred. 
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and teamwork skills. 
  • Basic computer and ERP (Epicor) experience. 
  • Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment.
