Shiloh House is looking for a flexible, adaptable, organized, and people-focused HR Assistant to join our team. You’ll gain hands-on experience in recruitment, onboarding, employee records, HR compliance, and other HR functions while working alongside an experienced HR team.


Our HR department works closely with the Colorado Department of Human Services, giving you valuable exposure to HR and regulatory requirements within the youth and human services field.

Pay: $23.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Full-time | 40 hours/week

What You'll Do


As an HR Assistant, you’ll support the HR team in a variety of day-to-day activities while gaining hands-on experience across multiple areas of Human Resources.


Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including maintaining job postings, checking references, employment verifications, and backgrounds for qualified candidates.
  • Monitor and coordinate employee fitness-for-duty requirements and ensure compliance with applicable agency policies and regulatory requirements. 
  • Support new hire onboarding and ensure required paperwork, documentation, and training are completed.
  • Process employee exits, including resignations and system access removal, in accordance with established offboarding procedures.

HR Records & Compliance

  • Create and maintain personnel files for new and current employees.
  • Track and obtain ongoing personnel requirements to support compliance.
  • Maintain personnel files in preparation for and compliance with audits from the State of Colorado and COA/Social Current Accreditation, including ongoing background processing.
  • Operate in accordance with Colorado Department of Human Services Social Services Child Care Facility Licensing rules and regulations.
  • Monitor and track annual performance reviews to ensure timely completion.
  • Process and maintain personal transport approval forms.
  • Support annual compliance projects, including W-2 distribution, Benefit Summary Annual Reviews, and other required reporting.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all employee and participant information.

Employee & Department Support

  • Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures or connect employees with the appropriate HR team member.
  • Provide professional and welcoming support to employees, applicants, and internal and external partners.
  • Use appropriate greetings and promptly relay messages as needed.
  • Regularly update the Agency Organizational Chart.
  • Create and update procedure sheets and personnel documents.
  • Schedule meetings and maintain HR documents and records.
  • Monitor incoming mail and distribute accordingly.
  • Order and manage office supplies for the HR department.
  • Assist with HR projects and other administrative needs as they arise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Must have at least one year of experience answering phones and two years of general clerical experience.
  • Must have strong communication skills, including writing, typing, active listening, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/Google Docs.
  • Must demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be proficient with HRIS software; knowledge of Paylocity is a plus.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be willing and able to pass a background check.
  • Applicants must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening as a condition of employment, in accordance with Colorado Department of Human Services regulations for child care facilities. This screening includes state criminal background checks, fingerprinting, sex offender registry searches, and abuse and neglect clearances. If the applicant has lived in any other state within the past five years, equivalent background and abuse/neglect checks from those states will also be conducted. In addition, all direct care applicants are required to complete a health evaluation or physical prior to beginning service to confirm they are fit for duty.
