Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Programs, sets up, and operates CNC machinery to manufacture complex precision parts for drilling and geotechnical equipment, ensuring dimensional accuracy and quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Program CNC machines using G-code and/or CAM software
- Perform complex setups, including fixturing, tooling selection, and offsets
- Machine close-tolerance parts from steel, aluminum, and specialty alloys
- Inspect finished parts to blueprint specifications
- Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions
- Mentor CNC Operators and Assistants
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years CNC machining experience
- Proficiency in G-code programming
- Ability to work to tight tolerances (±0.001")
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology
- CAM software experience (Mastercam, Fusion 360)
- Experience machining drill rods or downhole tools
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Prolonged standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, exposure to cutting fluids, metal dust, and noise. Required PPE at all times.
