CNC Machinist
Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Programs, sets up, and operates CNC machinery to manufacture complex precision parts for drilling and geotechnical equipment, ensuring dimensional accuracy and quality. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Program CNC machines using G-code and/or CAM software 
  • Perform complex setups, including fixturing, tooling selection, and offsets 
  • Machine close-tolerance parts from steel, aluminum, and specialty alloys 
  • Inspect finished parts to blueprint specifications 
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions 
  • Mentor CNC Operators and Assistants 
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records 
Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED 
  • 3+ years CNC machining experience 
  • Proficiency in G-code programming 
  • Ability to work to tight tolerances (±0.001") 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology 
  • CAM software experience (Mastercam, Fusion 360) 
  • Experience machining drill rods or downhole tools 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Prolonged standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, exposure to cutting fluids, metal dust, and noise. Required PPE at all times.
