Job Summary
Reporting to the Geoscience & Land Supervisor, or any other individual designated by the Company, the Land Management Specialist supports land tenure, land access, and property management activities across resource development properties. This role assists with land tenure administration, agreement negotiation, land stewardship, and risk mitigation activities related to company-owned and managed lands.
This position works closely with internal teams including environmental, permitting, operations, and legal groups to ensure land-related activities align with regulatory requirements and company standards. The Land Management Specialist maintains accurate land records, supports property acquisitions and divestments, and contributes to cost-effective land management strategies.

Responsibilities
Land Tenure & Agreement Coordination
- Ensure land management activities align with regulatory requirements, company policies, and environmental standards.
- Support land-related compliance activities and participate in site risk assessments where required.
- Review, track, and maintain land agreements including License of Occupation, Statutory Right of Way, Access, Road Use, and Purchase and Sale Agreements.
- Assist in drafting and coordinating new land agreements and amendments as required.
- Monitor agreement obligations, key dates, and commitments to ensure compliance with contractual terms.
- Maintain accurate records of agreements and related correspondence.
- Coordinate with internal teams, landowners, and external stakeholders to support land access requirements and agreement administration.
Land Stewardship & Portfolio Support
- Support stewardship of company land assets by ensuring land use activities align with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Assist with property acquisitions, divestments, and land transactions where required.
- Work with internal departments to integrate land considerations into operational and project planning activities.
- Communicate with regulatory agencies, landowners, and other external stakeholders regarding land access, agreements, and related requirements.
Records Management & Data Systems
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date land records including permits, agreements, and documentation related to third-party engagements.
- Utilize GIS and database systems to track land tenure, property boundaries, and land-related activities.
- Ensure land information systems and documentation are properly organized and accessible.
Research & Risk Reduction
- Conduct research related to land rights, regulatory requirements, and permitting processes.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and internal communications to support informed decision-making.
- Support identification and resolution of land-related issues, risks, or stakeholder concerns.
- Assist with initiatives that improve land management efficiency and reduce operational risk.
Other Duties
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet operational needs.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or certification in Business Administration, Commerce, Land Management, Real Estate, Legal Studies, Natural Resources Management Geosciences, or a related discipline is preferred.[CP2.1]
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in land management, real estate administration, legal administration, permitting, or a related field.
- Experience working within resource development, mining, infrastructure, or land management environments is considered an asset.
- Experience supporting land access agreements, land tenure administration, or property transactions is highly beneficial.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational and documentation management skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to track multiple agreements, obligations, and records.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams, landowners, and regulatory agencies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with contract tracking systems, land databases, or records management systems is beneficial.
- Experience in utilizing GIS platforms, such as ArcGIS, to manage and maintain databases related to land tenure records.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
Physical Job Requirements & Working Conditions
This role requires the ability to work in both office and active project site environments, including occasional travel to operating or construction sites. Physical requirements may include extended periods of sitting and computer use, walking on uneven terrain, climbing stairs or accessing elevated platforms, and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, respiratory protection and high-visibility clothing. The position may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and other typical construction or industrial site environments, while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards.
