Standard Work Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm. MUST be willing to be flexible as jobs may change.   

 

Position Summary:


The Electrical Field Superintendent - Residential will oversee the day-to-day activities of projects, coordinating with internal and external partners, and ensuring the quality, production, and safety of the single-family residential projects.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Read plans, specifications, and construction documents to determine scope of work, material requirements, equipment locations, and installation requirements.
  • Identify required tools, materials, and equipment necessary for crews to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Supervise and provide direction to installation crews, field employees, and punch mechanics.
  • Coordinate and schedule work activities to meet production demands, project timelines, and inspection schedules.
  • Collaborate with builders, construction managers, inspectors, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.
  • Inspect work regularly for quality, completeness, code compliance, and timeliness, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Complete all required operational and safety documentation, including JHAs, progress reports, inspections, and as-built drawings.
  • Identify and mitigate safety risks in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow and enforce all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable City, State, Federal, and local codes and understand how they apply to residential construction projects.
  • Call in and attend inspections as necessary to support project completion.
  • Address safety violations, quality concerns, warranty issues, and other jobsite deficiencies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate and oversee punch work and corrective work activities to ensure projects progress toward inspection approval and completion.
  • Provide on-site leadership, training, coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities for field employees.
  • Manage jobsite materials, equipment, and inventory to ensure proper use, storage, and availability.
  • Be dependable, accountable, and consistent in all aspects of daily project supervision and job performance.
  • Maintain professionalism in all jobsite interactions and serve as a positive representative of the organization.
  • Be willing and able to follow all instructed safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Able to self-direct individual and team efforts to align with project priorities and deadlines.
  • Able to arrive at work on time, work the designated schedule, and be available as project conditions require.
  • Maintain reliable transportation capable of traveling to job sites and transporting tools and materials as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Supervise and inspect the installation of electrical equipment, systems, and components to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes.
  • Supervise the proper installation of electrical gear, wiring, and related components.
  • Test electrical systems and components for continuity, voltage, and proper operation according to specifications and code requirements.
  • Oversee the setup and maintenance of temporary power systems for construction projects.
  • Ensure grounding systems for equipment and structures are installed properly and in compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Monitor cable pulling methods and installation techniques to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.
  • Ensure field personnel and subcontractors properly utilize specialized electrical tools and equipment including multi-meters, knockout kits, tuggers, terminating devices, and electrical hand tools. 
  • Oversee troubleshooting efforts for electrical systems and equipment and coordinate resolution of electrical malfunctions and deficiencies.
  • Maintain knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable state and local amendments as they apply to residential construction projects.

Qualifications:

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Required: Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing.
  • Required: Minimum of 8 years of installation experience in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing.
  • Required: Thorough understanding of HVAC, electrical, or plumbing installation practices, industry standards, and applicable code requirements.
  • Required: Thorough understanding of residential and commercial new construction processes, including sequencing and timing of inspections and quality control procedures.
  • Required: Ability to effectively supervise, coordinate, train, mentor, and develop field personnel, installation crews, subcontractors, and punch mechanics.
  • Required: Ability to identify problems quickly and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Required: Ability to oversee and coordinate people, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Required: Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Required: Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and project quality standards.
  • HVAC Required: Ability to read, understand, and interpret plans, specifications, shop drawings, duct layouts, equipment installation instructions, and related construction documents.
  • Electrical Required: Strong understanding of the electrical construction industry, including troubleshooting and identifying faults in electrical systems.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
  • Must be able to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
