The IKA Account Manager is responsible for maintaining and growing IKA’s existing Academic, Biotech, Pharma, Industrial, and Clinical customer base while developing new business opportunities within an assigned territory. This role promotes the IKA product portfolio, builds and maintains strong relationships with direct customers and distribution partners, and collaborates with internal teams to drive sales growth. The Account Manager will actively pursue new customers, convert competitive business, and develop strategic sales opportunities to achieve territory revenue goals. The role also provides support for Account Manager training, onboarding, CRM, and Qlik software initiatives.

  • Develop and execute territory business plans to achieve sales and revenue goals. 
  • Grow existing customer accounts while identifying and converting new business opportunities. 
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline to support consistent revenue growth. 
  • Develop strategic relationships with key customers, distributors, and industry contacts. 
  • Collaborate with Sales, Service, and Technical Support teams to maximize territory growth and customer satisfaction. 
  • Provide product quotations, technical assistance, and support to customers. 
  • Attend and support local, regional, and national trade shows as needed. 
  • Maintain accurate customer and sales activity records within the CRM. 
  • Stay current on IKA products, applications, industry trends, and competitive offerings. 
  • Provide competitive market intelligence and sales insights to the broader IKA team. 
  • Support training and onboarding for Account Managers as needed.
Requirements
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. 
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. 
  • Strong knowledge of account management, business development, and territory growth strategies. 
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical product information. 
  • Knowledge of laboratory and analytical products and applications preferred. 
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to analyze market trends and competitive activity. 
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office. 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments. 
  • Willingness to travel regularly for customer visits and trade shows.
