AGENCY OVERVIEW: The Action Center is a nonprofit organization in Lakewood, Colorado, with 57 years of experience assisting people facing hardship. Each year, the organization supports more than 40,000 individuals, with food assistance being the most requested service. The agency is preparing to move into a new community hub in 2027, bringing health, education, and supportive services together in one location. Product Operations Coordinators are essential to the success of the new Food and Clothing Market, ensuring community members have consistent access to food, clothing, and other essential items through effective inventory management and distribution.


JOB SUMMARY: The Action Center Product Operations Coordinators provide a wide range of logistics and customer support to the agency. Primary duties include box truck driving, donation pickups, forklift and pallet jack operation, manual stocking of product shelves, and donation dock support. As a representative of the Action Center, the Product Operations Coordinator will provide outstanding customer service and approach all tasks safely and efficiently. A strong work ethic and a professional, friendly, proactive approach are required.

Requirements

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for driving box trucks to retrieve donations from retail stores.
  • Transfer materials to and from our various storage and service facilities, using agency box trucks and vans.
  • Load and unload deliveries and move inventory around the agency using forklifts, pallet jacks, walking stackers, and manual lifting.
  • Coordinate with other employees to manage inventory throughout the agency.
  • Supervise, train, and provide a positive volunteer experience for individual and small groups that provide thousands of hours of support to the agency each year.
  • Complete daily, detailed records such as temperature logs, driver logs, and donation receipts
  • Ensure that the donations dock and warehouse are well organized, clean, and safe.
  • Refuel agency vehicles and identify vehicle maintenance needs. Notify the Manager of concerns.
  • Provide outstanding customer service while receiving donations, unloading cars, providing receipts, and collecting donor information.
  • Always follow agency safety procedures (food handling, forklift, driving, incident reporting, etc.)
  • Follow agency opening and closing procedures for the donation dock and agency buildings.  
  • Other duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Prior driving experience and ability to safely drive an 18’ box truck 
  • Current Colorado driver’s license and a clean driving record (Copy of current motor vehicle record required)
  • Warehouse experience preferred.  Ability to operate forklift, walking stacker, and pallet jack.  Training is provided.
  • Professionalism, with strong communication and delegation skills 
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds to a height of four feet
  • Ability to remain flexible in a fast-changing work environment
  • Maintain excellent relations with staff, volunteers, and donors in a busy environment
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • To ensure workplace safety, final candidates must pass a post-offer drug test before starting the position


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The role involves heavy lifting, the use of a forklift, and related physical activity associated with loading dock and warehouse operations.   
  • Product pickups and deliveries are made in a van, box truck, or large commercial truck.  
  • The work involves driving, standing, walking, loading/unloading, and repeated lifting throughout the entire workday.  


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Local driving for pickups and deliveries, donation dock, warehouse, and office.

Position is not eligible for remote work
