POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Join our dedicated team at the YMCA as a Swim Instructor and help individuals of all ages develop essential swimming skills in a safe and supportive environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct swimming lessons for children, teens, and adults of varying skill levels
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with YMCA standards and safety protocols
- Monitor participants’ progress and provide constructive feedback to improve their skills
- Enforce safety rules and ensure a safe swimming environment at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area and equipment
- Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and team members
- Promote water safety awareness and YMCA programs to participants and their families

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid.
- Must be 16 years of age and show technical ability in swim skill instruction.
- Proficient and demonstration quality swimming skills and safety skills.
- Previous experience teaching swimming or water safety preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse age groups and skill levels
- Knowledge of water safety practices and emergency response procedures
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual with a positive attitude
