Description
The Student Administrative Assistant serves as a welcoming first point of contact for students, families, faculty, staff, and campus visitors. This position provides administrative and programming support while helping create a positive, responsive, and student-centered office environment. Student Administrative Assistants develop valuable professional skills in customer service, communication, organization, and office operations while contributing to the success of the Stephens College community.
Schedule
- Approximately 5 – 20 hrs. per week; depending on your schedule availability
- Flexible scheduling based on class schedule and departmental needs.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours for activities and/or special events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist students, families, faculty, staff, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer office telephones and respond to inquiries appropriately.
- Direct visitors to campus resources and offices.
- Receive and distribute messages accurately and professionally.
- Provide information about Stephens College programs, services, and events.
- Perform general office duties including filing, data entry, preparing correspondence, copying, scanning, and maintaining office organization and supplies.
- Assist with special projects, programs, events and departmental initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information.
- Represent the Office of Student Success & Engagement professionally.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Department-Specific Responsibilities for Residence Life
- Assist with housing records and occupancy documentation.
- Prepare materials for resident check-in and check-out.
- Assist with lockout documentation and key management.
- Prepare materials for Resident Assistant training and programming.
- Support communication with residents and families.
Department-Specific Responsibilities for Student Engagement
- Assist with event planning and logistics.
- Prepare promotional materials and campus communications.
- Maintain event calendars and registrations.
- Support student organizations administratively.
- Assist with campus traditions and engagement initiatives.
- Support office social media and marketing as appropriate.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a Stephens College student.
- Meet institutional requirements for student employment.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and integrity.
- Possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience.
- Experience working in an office environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Experience using office technology.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Previous campus involvement or leadership experience.

Salary Description
