Description
The Residence Hall Front Desk Assistant serves as the welcoming face of the residence hall community. This position provides exceptional customer service to residents, families, guests, and campus visitors while supporting the daily operations and safety of the residence halls. Front Desk Assistants foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging residential environment by maintaining accurate records, assisting residents with routine needs, monitoring building access, and providing outstanding hospitality.
Schedule
- Approximately 5–20 hours per week; depending on your schedule and departmental needs.
- Evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts may be available.
- Flexible scheduling around academic commitments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome residents, families, guests, faculty, staff, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service while creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
- Monitor residence hall access in accordance with College policies.
- Verify guest check-in procedures and maintain guest logs.
- Assist with key and access card distribution and documentation.
- Answer telephones and respond to inquiries.
- Receive and distribute mail and packages, if applicable.
- Maintain accurate front desk records and documentation.
- Monitor common areas and report maintenance, safety, or policy concerns.
- Support residence hall check-in, check-out, room changes, and break housing operations.
- Assist with administrative projects and special events.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety Responsibilities
- Monitor access to residence halls.
- Follow guest registration procedures.
- Report emergencies immediately.
- Contact professional staff or Campus Safety when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a Stephens College student.
- Meet institutional requirements for student employment.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Customer service experience.
- Residence hall living experience.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Salary Description
$15.00/hour
