Job Description:
Millennial Software is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team. You will provide systems engineering and enterprise architecture support to Government customers while helping improve architecture, engineering, development, and integration processes. Our ideal candidate is an experienced Systems Engineer who can translate customer requirements into effective system architectures, processes, and engineering solutions.
You will work closely with customers and technical teams to assess existing architectures and workflows, develop future-state solutions, and support the transition between them. This role will contribute to requirements development, system design, testing, enterprise architecture documentation, and engineering review activities across mission-focused programs.
Essential Functions:
- Provide systems engineering and enterprise architecture support to Government customers and mission teams.
- Work with customers to evaluate and improve architecture and engineering workflows, processes, and supporting tools.
- Develop and document system requirements, architectures, system designs, interfaces, and testing approaches.
- Analyze existing (“As Is”) architectures and workflows, identify future-state (“To Be”) solutions, and develop recommendations for transitioning between them.
- Develop standardized and repeatable processes supporting architecture, engineering, development, and integration activities.
- Apply systems engineering practices, including the Systems V, to support the development and delivery of customer solutions.
- Produce and maintain Enterprise Architecture Repository artifacts and other technical documentation as required.
- Support engineering review boards and technical review activities.
- Collaborate with engineering and development teams to support requirements analysis, system integration, and testing.
- Support the development and maintenance of Development, Test, and Operational environments.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a CI Polygraph
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline; 4 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for a degree
- 5+ years of relevant systems engineering experience
- Experience performing systems engineering activities including requirements analysis, interface control documentation, ConOps development, Use Case development, data flow development, and test planning
- Experience working with requirements management tools
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments, including tools such as Jira
- Familiarity with the deployment and maintenance of Development, Test, and Operational environments
Nice to Have:
- 8+ years of relevant systems engineering experience
- Certification or formal training in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Experience supporting software and systems development projects using Model-Based Systems Engineering practices
- Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture concepts, Systems Engineering principles, and implementation of MBSE within engineering models
- Experience working with Agile or SAFe development processes
- Experience developing clear, traceable, and well-structured system requirements
