Medical Assistant
Description

Our team is looking for a hard-working medical assistant who will work with the physicians and other members of the practice by performing a variety of back office clinical and administrative duties. This person will work to fulfill patient needs and ensure smooth patient flow within the practice.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answers a high volume of calls and schedules appointments for all patients with a high degree of accuracy
  • Communicates clearly on the phone and accurately documents and assigns messages
  • Confirms and updates contact information for all patients at every contact
  • Makes follow-up calls for any messages left
  • Documents appointment visit status, including rescheduled, cancelled, confirmed, left voice message, or any other status appropriately
  • Delivers all communications with excellent customer service
  • Be courteous and professional for all patient interactions
  • Routes calls to appropriate staff for swift resolution


Requirements
  • Strong computer skills, including basic keyboarding skills
  • Ability to navigate through patient records systems
  • Ability to analyze situations, prioritize, develop solutions, and make recommendations
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills over the telephone
  • Ability to community sensitively and effectively with patients
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of medical practice terminology


Education and Experience

  • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience in fast paced scheduling or call center
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • Experience working with performance metrics
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
