Reports To: Sponsorship Program Senior Manager

Summary

This position works in the U.S. office and is a welcoming point of contact for partners and guests. The Sponsorship Administrator is responsible for providing an initial level of support and care for sponsors and donors, including pledge management. As a member of the U.S. Sponsorship Team, they assist with recurring seasonal projects and new initiatives.


Essential Duties

  1. Provides outstanding sponsor support through education and engagement and collaborates with U.S. and Rwandan staff to provide sponsors with transformational opportunities.
  2. Manages sponsor accounts and pledges, including maintaining integrity of recurring automatic pledges.
  3. Assists with recurring seasonal projects.


Job Duties

Communication & Donor Relations

  • Manages multiple email accounts to support partners.
  • Answers incoming mainline and direct calls from partners.
  • Processes and sends all letters from sponsored students to their sponsors and supports volunteers in reviewing letters.
  • Onboards new sponsors and educates sponsors on their role.
  • Assists in the project management of Annual Letters.
  • Checks in all Christmas photos annually.
  • Communicates community transfers to sponsors.

Donor Accounts

  • Manages sponsor accounts and pledges, including maintaining integrity of recurring automatic pledges.
  • Project manages monthly statement day.

Acquisition

  • Sets up new pledges from sponsorship events.
  • Assists with the Co-Sponsorship Ask Campaign to sponsors of secondary students.
  • Supports Dream Sundays and other events (requires occasional weekend work).

Other

  • Calculates annually promotion rates.
  • Maintains and updates position procedures.
  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Respectfully takes direction from Sponsorship Program Senior Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university is preferred.


Certificates, Licenses and/or Registrations

This position does not require certificates, licenses and/or registrations.


Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Computer Skills

Job requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use scheduling software.  

Reasoning Ability  

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Travel

This position requires occasional travel for 5-25% of the position, which are usually day trips. This position may travel domestically once per year for an annual All-Staff.
