Container Delivery CDL Driver

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Driver to transport and deliver shipping containers to customer locations. The driver will be responsible for safely operating company vehicles, loading and securing containers, completing deliveries and pickups, and providing professional customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safely operate company trucks and equipment to deliver and pick up shipping containers.

Transport containers to and from customer locations, job sites, warehouses, and other designated locations.

Safely load, unload, position, and secure containers according to company procedures.

Inspect the vehicle and equipment before and after each trip and report any mechanical or safety issues.

Complete required delivery tickets, inspection reports, logs, and other paperwork accurately.

Follow all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and applicable traffic laws.

Maintain a clean and organized truck and equipment.

Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, and other team members.

Verify delivery and pickup locations and ensure containers are placed according to customer instructions.

Safely maneuver trucks in residential, commercial, and construction areas.

Assist with basic equipment or container inspections when needed.

Report accidents, damage, delays, or other issues to management immediately.

Perform other driving and delivery-related duties as assigned.

Practice defensive driving at all times, including maintaining a safe following distance, continuously scanning for hazards, anticipating the actions of other drivers, and adjusting speed and driving behavior to road and weather conditions.

Immediately report all accidents, incidents, near misses, property damage, injuries, vehicle damage, or unsafe conditions to dispatch and management in accordance with company procedures.

Qualifications

Valid Class A or Class B CDL, as required for the position.

Clean and acceptable driving record.

Current DOT medical certification, if required.

Previous commercial driving or container delivery experience preferred.

Ability to safely operate a large commercial vehicle in various driving and site conditions.

Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.

Ability to follow safety procedures and company policies.

Physical Requirements

Ability to enter and exit the truck repeatedly throughout the workday.

Ability to inspect, secure, and handle equipment and containers.

Ability to bend, stoop, climb, reach, and walk as required.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Ability to lift and carry items as required for the position.

Work Schedule

Full-time position.

Schedule may vary based on customer deliveries, pickups, and operational needs.

Overtime, weekends, or holidays may occasionally be required.

The CDL Driver is expected to maintain a strong commitment to safety and comply with all applicable DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company requirements. Drivers must maintain all required licenses, certifications, and medical qualifications throughout employment.
