Good News Home Inc. is a nonprofit residential treatment center dedicated to helping women overcome substance abuse and co-occurring mental health challenges. We provide a safe, structured, and compassionate environment for up to 12 women, offering both short-term stabilization and long-term recovery support. Our holistic approach nurtures mind, body, and spirit, welcoming clients regardless of race, religion, or ability to pay. 

We are seeking a Residential Support Aide who is dependable, empathetic, and committed to supporting women on their recovery journey. This role is essential to maintaining a therapeutic living environment and ensuring continuity of care for our residents.


All Shifts Available

  • 7 AM to 3 PM
  • 3 PM to 11 PM
  • 11 PM to 7 AM

As a Residential Support Aide, you will be a steady, supportive presence for residents throughout your shift, helping maintain structure, safety, and engagement. Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct room checks every two hours to ensure resident safety, participation, and compliance with program expectations.
  • Provide supervision during showering and dressing as needed to support resident safety, privacy, and therapeutic structure.
  • Offer trauma-informed support to female residents, maintaining a calm, respectful, and sensitive approach aligned with best practices for survivors of trauma.
  • Monitor resident activity in private or semi-private areas in accordance with program protocols and safety requirements.
  • Provide safe, reliable transportation to meetings, church services, medical appointments, and other required needs/activities.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs and email shift reports to clinical staff.
  • Report client concerns promptly and complete incident reports as needed.
  • Administer scheduled drug tests following facility protocols.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and team communication.
  • Deliver verbal shift handovers to incoming staff to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  • Support new admissions by completing intake checklists and providing orientation.
  • Uphold house rules and reinforce a structured, therapeutic environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Experience (2+ years preferred) in substance-use treatment, mental health, or related human services
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to set healthy boundaries
  • Comfort working independently and using sound judgment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic internet navigation
  • Experience driving a 12–15 passenger van is a plus, but not required
