General Responsibilities

  1. Provide school social work services to enhance students' social/emotional and adaptive development.
  2. Conduct clinical assessments, crisis interventions, and consultations; provide recommendations for students, staff, and parents.
  3. Provide individual and group therapy to students.
  4. Collaborate with parents to increase participation and use of resources.
  5. Consult and collaborate with school personnel on student needs and behavior modification.
  6. Identify and assess social and emotional difficulties affecting students' school performance.
  7. Act as a liaison for referrals for specialized testing and ensure students' needs are met.
  8. Maintain student records and reports according to agency and school policies.
  9. Participate in case consultations, collaborations, and reviews with school personnel and outside consultants.
  10. Conduct in-service training for parents, students, teachers, and administrators.
  11. Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.

Requirements
  1. Master’s Degree in Social Work from a regionally accredited institution.
  2. Passage of complete background clearance and fingerprinting.
  3. Completion of licensure in Illinois a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or related credential within one year of employment.
  4. Professional Educator License (PEL) Illinois Certificate as a School Social Worker recommended.
  5. Training and experience in clinical assessments and crisis interventions with school-aged youth, preferably in school-based settings.
  6. Competence in providing culturally-sensitive interventions to diverse groups.
  7. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  8. Interest in mentoring master’s level trainees.
  9. Skill in networking and community outreach.
  10. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  11. Passage of complete background clearance and any other required testing or clearances.
  12. Adhere to the Agency’s Code of Ethics and conduct all responsibilities in accordance with the standards outlined in the Employee Handbook. 
  13. A valid driver’s license, reliable means of transportation and proof of liability insurance is required.
Salary Description
$56,900 - $65,200/year 35 hours per week
