Description

SUMMARY 

The Cashier receives cash from customers and employees in payment for goods or services and records the amount received in an accurate manner. S/he is sometimes the customer’s last contact with the dealership and therefore must represent the dealership in a friendly, professional manner.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

  • Process customer payments for service and parts transactions using established processes utilizing pay methods approved. 
  • Responsible for processing payments and entering DMS correctly.  
  • Reconcile cash box and deposits daily with exact accuracy as per request of the accounting department. 
  • Submit timely and accurate cashier reports according to the established process.  
  • Maintain manufacturer certification.  
  • Review extended service contracts and submit for payment with service contract agencies as necessary 
  • Answer Service calls and assist with customer needs as instructed by management. 
  • Provide appointment scheduling for customers both at cashiering and on the phone using the xtime system. 
  • Maintain loaner vehicle fleet by utilizing available systems and following applicable process. Create loaner contracts and maintain documentation as required. 
  • Make outbound calls to follow up with customers, schedule appointments, and generate additional service business as requested. 
  • Review emails from BDC support and assist with customer needs. 
  • Advise service manager of any customer concerns or needs that require management’s attention. 
  • Maintain work area tidy and organized. 
  • Ensure documents are filed appropriately and secure.  
  • Provide a positive customer experience.  
  • Assist the service manager in any other duties as directed. 
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE/ QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • One year of experience operating a cash register preferred.
  • Will be trained on dealership computer systems, cash register and other office machines.
  • Professional personal appearance.
  • Ability to work well with customers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT  

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. 
  • Duties are performed primarily at a desk in an office setting. Work includes frequent clerical and administrative responsibilities and interaction with managers and employees. 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times. 
  • Occasional lifting, standing, crawling, reaching, use of stairs. 
  • Occasional attendance at social gatherings. 
  • Ability to travel occasionally. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS  

  • Valid Texas Driver's License  
  • Maintain a clean driving record
