THE ORGANIZATION

Alta California Regional Center (ACRC) is a non-profit agency under contract to the State of California and for 50 years has provided the coordination of services to individuals with developmental disabilities. ACRC employs over 900 persons working out of eight offices in a ten-county area. ACRC is one of 21 Regional Centers in California.

COMPENSATION

The below is dependent upon experience and education.

  • $37.03 - $42.84 a year

The actual amount offered within this range will depend on a variety of factors including skills and abilities, education, experience, and other relevant job-related factors. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role. 


THE POSITION AND JOB SUMMARY

ACRC is seeking an HR Generalist & Payroll/AP Specialist to administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA accommodations, and Workers’ Compensation, while ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws. This position also supports payroll processing, accounts payable, employee reimbursements, financial reporting, audits, and other related accounting functions. This role also serves as a resource to employees and managers, coordinates with benefits and third-party vendors, maintains confidential records, and assists with compliance, policies, procedures, and general operational projects.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Mental aptitude to accurately process information and details; Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to correspond in a variety of mediums; Extensive sitting at workstation, in meetings, and in vehicle (50%+ of time); Frequent standing and walking; Adequate manual dexterity and coordination to operate standard office equipment, such as computer, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner, telephone, etc.; Hearing and vision corrected to normal range for operation of standard office equipment, transcription of documents and administration of electronic records; Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and stretching; Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. while moving paperwork, supplies, and other office materials; Ability to independently visit off site locations (occasional); Occasional travel outside of catchment area of distances of 100+ miles

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS 


Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Management, Accounting, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred. PHR, SPHR, PHR-CA, SPHR-CA, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is strongly preferred. A minimum of one year of progressive experience in Human Resources, accounting, payroll, financial analysis/reporting, or related functions is required, including at least one year of leave of absence administration experience. Nonprofit and/or union experience is a plus. Candidates must demonstrate strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; the ability to interpret and consistently apply regulations; strong attention to detail and accuracy; and the ability to manage complex work, meet deadlines, analyze and summarize data, and prepare organized reports. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office equipment is required. A valid California driver’s license and proof of automobile liability insurance are required for occasional travel to other ACRC offices. Other requirements and qualifications may apply.
