Heartline Staffing is recruiting an EHS Manager for an onsite manufacturing operation in Cabot, Vermont. This position provides environmental, health, and safety leadership, guidance, resources, and support, with responsibility for EHS programs, regulatory compliance, workplace safety, training, incident investigation, audits, and continuous improvement.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The EHS Manager will develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs while partnering with leaders and employees to identify and mitigate workplace hazards. The position leads safety initiatives, regulatory compliance activities, incident investigations, audits, risk assessments, environmental programs, and EHS performance reporting.

COMPENSATION
$93,000–$103,000 annual salary

SCHEDULE / WORK ARRANGEMENT
Onsite in Cabot, Vermont 05647

ROLE
• Provide EHS leadership, guidance, resources, and support for manufacturing operations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs that promote safe work practices and employee engagement.
• Lead safety initiatives focused on proactive safety practices and continuous improvement.
• Conduct new-hire safety orientation and required annual training in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company requirements.
• Partner with leaders and employees to identify, evaluate, and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Serve as a primary resource for Safety Committees, Emergency Response Teams, and site leadership.
• Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain required EHS documentation, permits, records, and regulatory reports.
• Conduct facility inspections, audits, and risk assessments to support regulatory and company compliance.
• Evaluate equipment, processes, and work environments for safety and ergonomic improvements.
• Recommend and implement engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Track, analyze, and report EHS performance metrics, trends, and key performance indicators.
• Coordinate and support internal and external compliance audits and regulatory inspections.
• Assist with workers' compensation case management, return-to-work programs, and injury-prevention initiatives.
• Monitor EHS regulatory changes and support ongoing compliance.
• Support sustainability and environmental compliance initiatives, including waste management and environmental reporting.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and human resources teams.

Requirements

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a related field of study with 3–5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience REQUIRED
• Demonstrated ability to lead EHS programs and influence safety performance at all levels of an organization REQUIRED
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and federal regulations REQUIRED
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and behavior-based safety programs REQUIRED
• Experience leading regulatory audits, environmental compliance programs, and safety management systems REQUIRED
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and EHS reporting systems REQUIRED
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment REQUIRED
• Ability to travel between facilities REQUIRED

Preferred
• Degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety, engineering, or a technical field
• CSP, ASP, CHMM, or equivalent professional certification
• Experience in food manufacturing, dairy processing, or another regulated manufacturing environment
