Life Pacific University (LPU) seeks candidates for a part-time adjunct faculty position in our Counseling and Psychology Department to serve our Online Undergraduate Psychology Program. For nearly 100 years Life Pacific University has educated a diverse student body for service to God in the Church, the workplace, and the world. The University is looking for a faculty member who shares this mission and has a heart to serve our students and broader community. The preferred start date for this part-time position is October 1, 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate practical experience in roles related to the department in the context of a college or university. Educational experience and academic credentials are essential for this role as well. Teaching at the collegiate level is expected. This position can be remote since it will be primarily for online programs.
General Description
Life Pacific University seeks candidates for an Adjunct Faculty position in our Online Undergraduate Psychology Program within the Counseling and Psychology Department. This role involves teaching a minimum of one course per semester, with the potential to teach up to three courses per semester. The faculty member reports directly to the Chair of the department, as well as the Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, and the Provost.
Essential Duties
- Teaches assigned courses in the Online Undergraduate Psychology Program (minimum of one course per semester, with the potential to teach up to three).
- Models best instructional practices in the online classroom setting.
- Supports the student experience through timely feedback, accurate grading, and responsive communication.
- Utilizes the Canvas learning management system effectively for course delivery, communication, and assessment.
- Participates in program assessment activities as requested by the department Chair.
- Attends faculty trainings, meetings, and events as outlined in the Faculty Handbook and as applicable to adjunct faculty.
- Actively integrates Christian faith into professional practice and models caring relationships and Christian example for students as an effective role model of a Christian life.
- Accomplishes other duties as assigned by the Chair, Dean, and/or Provost.
Minimum Requirements
- Holds an earned terminal degree in a relevant field (candidates who hold a master's degree in a relevant field with experience in education may be considered).
- Has 1–3 years of experience teaching online.
- Is familiar with the Canvas learning management system.
- Has a demonstrated history of successful teaching in higher education.
- Shows willingness and ability to apply the Christian worldview in course design, instruction, and advising.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills and writing ability.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with and engaging diverse students and colleagues.
- Computer knowledge/skills: working knowledge of Apple computers and applications.
- Committed to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff, and the general constituency of Life Pacific.
- Demonstrated Christian faith consistent with Life Pacific University's commitment to The Foursquare Church Denomination. Faculty must align with our Pentecostal/Charismatic and Wesleyan Arminian stance (must be able to sign Life Pacific's Statement of Faith and align with its position on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity).

Candidates must be Christian believers holding a Pentecostal/charismatic perspective and will be required to adhere to the University's statement of faith and mission.
