 Description: Pivotal Point LLC is seeking a part-time, dependable Telecommunications Cable & TV Installation Technician to perform structured cabling, telecom support, and television installation at customer locations in the Washington, DC area.Pivotal Point, LLC is a certified 8(a) and CVE Certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB). Telecommunications Cable & TV Installation Technician Position Summary: The technician will install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot copper, coaxial, and fiber cabling, as well as mount, connect, configure, and test televisions. Work will be performed in Government facilities and requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.ResponsibilitiesTelecommunications & Cabling

  • Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat5/Cat6, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Run horizontal and vertical cabling in new and existing buildings.
  • Install cable pathways and support systems, including J-hooks, cable trays, racks, patch panels, wire managers, jacks, and faceplates.
  • Terminate and dress patch panels, 66/110 blocks, and distribution frames.
  • Label, organize, and document cable installations.
  • Test voice, data, and video cabling and troubleshoot installation issues.
  • Identify cabling deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate site documentation and provide project status updates as required.

TV Installation & Setup

  • Unpack and inspect televisions for visible damage.
  • Install manufacturer-provided stands or mount televisions using approved mounting systems.
  • Install customer-provided mounting hardware on appropriate wall surfaces when authorized.
  • Level and securely mount televisions.
  • Connect existing power, coaxial, HDMI, Ethernet, and other customer-provided cables.
  • Complete basic television setup, including channel programming, input selection, volume, and standard configuration settings.
  • Test picture, sound, inputs, and connectivity.
  • Dress and organize cables for a clean installation.
  • Remove packaging and installation debris from the immediate work area.
  • Report damaged equipment, missing materials, unsuitable mounting surfaces, or other installation concerns.


Requirements

 Qualifications

  • At least 3+ years of telecommunications, structured cabling, audiovisual, or related field installation experience preferred.
  • Experience with Cat5/Cat6 and coaxial cable installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Fiber optic installation or termination experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with HDMI, coaxial, Ethernet, and common television connections.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and testing equipment.
  • Ability to read basic construction drawings, floor plans, or installation documents.
  • Strong cable labeling, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow installation instructions and work with limited supervision.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and position equipment weighing up to approximately 70 pounds. Larger televisions may require a two-person installation.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Must be dependable and able to report to scheduled job sites on time.
  • Must be able to pass a Government background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BICSI certification or structured cabling training.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience using Fluke or similar cable testing equipment.
  • Fiber optic termination and testing experience.
  • Previous experience working in Government, military, commercial, or multi-site environments.

Scope of Work: Technicians will perform authorized cabling and television installation work based on individual project requirements. Standard TV installation does not include new electrical work, structural wall modifications, equipment repair, or advanced network troubleshooting unless specifically included in the assigned scope of work.
