JOB SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst supports the organization’s financial planning and analysis efforts by preparing reports, analyzing financial data, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, monitors performance trends, and provides actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. The position collaborates closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to drive financial efficiency, maintain compliance, and support long-term business objectives.

Requirements
  • Support the development and implementation of financial strategies, including cash management initiatives aligned with business goals.
  • Assist in daily finance and accounting operations, including budgeting, reporting, auditing support, and tax compliance.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, forecasts, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, cost-saving opportunities, and revenue growth potential.
  • Perform variance analysis comparing actual results to budget and forecast, and explain key drivers. 
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with banking transactions and account activity.
  • Track operating expenses and ensure alignment with approved budget targets. 
  • Prepare and distribute recurring management reports with actionable insights.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS, SOX or J-SOX as applicable). 
  • Assist with internal and external audits and maintain proper financial documentation.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to read and write in English required; bilingual Japanese preferred. 
  • Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial and business documents. 
  • Experience preparing financial reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation. 
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, including calculations involving percentages, interest, commissions, and financial metrics. 
  • Familiarity with US GAAP, SOX, or J-SOX requirements. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP Business One or SAP S/4HANA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. 
  • Positive, flexible, and team-oriented work style.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or corporate finance. 
  • Working knowledge of financial regulations, corporate finance principles, and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS). 
  • Experience with financial systems such as SAP (Business One or S/4HANA), Oracle, QuickBooks, and advanced Excel skills preferred.

Salary Description
$80,000 - $90,000
