POSITION SUMMARY

The Lead Accountant in Accounting will be primarily responsible for ensuring assigned responsibilities are completed accurately and on a timely basis in accordance with the monthly close calendar.  Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts, managing day-to-day accounting tasks in assigned areas, proposing and implementing solutions, and leading or assisting with special projects. 


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Analyze GL transactions in Netsuite for selected balance sheet and income statement accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, prepaids, accruals and debt. 

· Prepare and analyze account reconciliations utilizing Excel and related data source.

· Record recurring, accrual, reclassification and adjusting monthly journal entries to ensure accurate month end account balances.  

· Analyze general and administrative expense current vs. prior month variances. Record accrual, reclassification or adjusting journal entries. 

· Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Operating divisions, Finance, and Management to facilitate time-sensitive requests for recurring and non-recurring journals in accordance with the Company’s policy and procedure. 

· Prepare working papers and schedules for the Company’s interim and fiscal year-end audit and calendar year-end tax return. 

· Lead, participate and contribute to system enhancement and process improvement projects.

· Lead or assist with special projects and other duties as requested. 

· Seek out opportunities to participate in progressively complex assignments as they arise and as skills are demonstrated. 

Requirements

 QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA or MBA preferred. 

· Four to six years of general accounting experience with progressively increased responsibility. Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills utilizing v-lookups and pivot tables. Netsuite experience a plus. 

· Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to embrace change in a fast paced environment and deal with ambiguity. 

· Detail oriented, highly self-motivated, positive team-player attitude and ability to work with minimal supervision.

· Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills. A professional manner necessary for collaborative interaction with Corporate and operating division personnel.

Salary Description
$90,000 - $115,0000 a year
