Truck Wash Technician

Description

Position Summary: Responsible for washing and disinfecting of trucks and trailers through implementation of established biosecurity production procedures. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ability to learn how to connect, disconnect semi-truck/trailer and pull it into wash bay.
  • Power wash trucks, trailers, tires, undercarriage, and other parts of equipment.
  • Properly uses PPE in compliance with job and site protocols. 
  • Does laundry as assign by manager/supervisor.
  • Performs maintenance as necessary on power washers, wood chip separator, etc.
  • Helps replace or repair equipment as requested
  • Appropriately uses, maintains, and stores equipment
  • Follows truck wash SOP outlined by the Truck Wash Manager.
  • Remove/install paneling on every trailer as necessary.
  • Promptly notifies supervisor of problems, concerns, broken/malfunctioning equipment or facilities.
  • Keeps appropriate people informed and seeks clarification as necessary
  • Actively participates in departmental and other team activities as requested
  • Tends to details, completes work accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintains accurate records and files as required
  • Promptly handles manager requests, concerns, and problems as they arise
  • Helps team members identify and solve problems of quality
  • Helps improve departmental systems for optimal operation/efficiency
  • Completes safety training timely.
  • Follows all Animal Welfare policies and practices and informs management of any violations by staff.
  • Follows bio-security measures according to Bio-Security Policy, including visitor access, sanitation, and disease prevention measures.
  • Follows all safety rules and practices and ensures others do the same.
  • Supports, promotes, and adheres to policies, procedures, and values of Passel Farms and industry standards.
  • Regular, punctual and consistent attendance is essential for this position.
  • Other duties as may be assigned to fulfill responsibilities of this position and support team goals.
Requirements

Qualification: Must be a minimum of 18 years old. Strong attention to detail. Must be able to work with a variety of people.

There is frequent bending, crouching, squatting, stopping, and kneeling. Must be able to hold power washer wand with force of water flowing through.


Work Environment: This position generally works Monday through Friday; weekends vary based on production and health needs. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Personal protection equipment such as bump caps, safety glasses and rain suits are required. Truck wash location will require mild exposure to heat and disinfectant chemicals.
