Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) is seeking a dedicated full-time overnight Safety and Security Monitor to join our inpatient treatment program in Mount Pleasant, PA. In this important role, you will help maintain a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment by monitoring patient activity, supporting clinical staff, conducting safety rounds, and ensuring compliance with facility policies and procedures.

As a Safety and Security Monitor, you will support building security, monitor patient activity, assist with crisis intervention, and work alongside clinical staff to ensure patients can focus on their treatment goals. Responsibilities

  • Monitor patient movement into and out of the facility.
  • Maintain daily logs and documentation.
  • Maintain knowledge of all facility rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Conduct safety and security rounds throughout the building.
  • Complete daily room inspections and reports of findings.
  • Conduct property and personal item searches while maintaining chain of custody.
  • Support nursing staff with visual searches during patient admissions.
  • Conduct patient room searches on a rotating schedule and as needed.
  • Provide crisis management and patient de-escalation support.
  • Assist Counselor Technicians with patient transfers as needed.
  • Monitor medication and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) lines to prevent medication diversion.
  • Participate in K-9 walkthroughs on a rotating schedule in coordination with the Regional Director of Security.
  • Provide support throughout the program as needed.
  • Attend mandatory GRC trainings and in-services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What Do We Require?

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Chemical dependency or substance use disorder treatment experience preferred.
  • Ability to pass a Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check.
  • Ability to obtain Pennsylvania Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting clearances.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Complete a 2-step TB test.
  • Ability to remain awake, alert, and attentive to patient activities while on duty.
