CEB Receiver / Delivery Driver Position

Serving over 1,500 students of color attending school in Wilmington’s central business, CEB is an educational ecosystem that holistically integrates programs and resources for students and their families, ensuring that every student has an equitable opportunity to succeed.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Receiver / Delivery Driver supports the daily operations of Culinary Services by receiving and storing food and supplies, delivering meals to assigned locations, and assisting with food service operations as needed. This position helps ensure meals and products are handled safely, accurately, and in compliance with USDA, food safety, and CEB procedures. The employee may also assist with meal service, point-of-sale (POS), food preparation, and other Culinary Services duties based on operational needs.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Food service, delivery, receiving, or inventory experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
• Ability to accurately count, measure, and record quantities
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and established procedures.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receiving & Inventory
- Receive and verify food, supplies, and equipment deliveries.
- Check quantities, product conditions, expiration dates, and temperatures.
- Report shortages, damages, substitutions, or incorrect deliveries.
- Properly store and rotate products using FIFO procedures.
- Maintain clean and organized storage, refrigerator, and freezer areas.
- Assist with inventory counts and required receiving documentation.
Delivery & Transportation
- Load and safely deliver meals, milk, snacks, and supplies to assigned locations.
- Verify meal counts and delivery quantities.
- Complete required delivery paperwork and obtain signatures.
- Maintain proper food temperatures during transportation.
- Keep delivery vehicles and equipment clean and organized.
- Report delivery delays, vehicle issues, shortages, or food safety concerns immediately.
Food Service Support
- Assist with breakfast, lunch, snacks, and other meal services as needed.
- Operate the computerized POS system and accurately record meal transactions.
- Handle small cash transactions when assigned.
- Ensure students receive USDA-compliant meals according to established procedures.
- Assist with food preparation, portioning, packing, stocking, and meal setup.
- Maintain clean and sanitary serving and checkout areas.
- Provide professional and friendly service to students, staff, and program partners.
- Perform other Culinary Services duties as assigned.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Follow USDA Child Nutrition Program, HACCP, health department, and CEB food safety procedures.
- Maintain proper food temperatures during receiving, storage, service, and transportation.
- Follow proper sanitation, personal hygiene, and food-handling procedures.
- Immediately report unsafe food, equipment, or facility conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull loaded carts and food carriers.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb stairs as needed.
- Ability to work in refrigerators, freezers, and varying weather conditions.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Ability to pass a motor vehicle record review
- Must pass criminal background check
