JOB SUMMARY
A Scottsdale Golf Hotel is seeking an experienced and relationship-driven Director of Sales and Marketing to lead the property’s sales strategy, build awareness, and generate revenue through group stays, golf getaways, corporate retreats, and other high-value experiences.
This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strong client and industry relationships, and positioning the property as a premier Scottsdale destination. The Director of Sales and Marketing will oversee the entire sales process, from prospecting and responding to inquiries through contracting, communication, and handoff to the operations team.
The ideal candidate is a proactive sales leader who understands luxury hospitality, group travel, and the Scottsdale market. They should be equally comfortable developing strategy, pursuing new business, building partnerships, and creating personalized experiences that encourage guests and groups to return.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop and execute the property’s annual sales and marketing strategy to achieve revenue, occupancy, and profitability goals.
- Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new business from golf groups, corporate retreats, executive teams, leisure groups, celebrations, and other target markets.
- Build and maintain relationships with meeting planners, golf professionals, travel advisors, destination management companies, local businesses, corporate clients, and hospitality partners.
- Manage incoming sales inquiries and guide prospective clients through the sales process, including discovery, property tours, proposals, contracts, and follow-up.
- Create customized proposals and experience recommendations based on each group’s needs, interests, budget, and reason for travel.
- Maintain an organized sales pipeline, track activity, and provide accurate forecasts and performance reports.
- Conduct property tours and confidently communicate the hotel’s accommodations, amenities, location, golf access, service, and overall guest experience.
- Partner closely with property leadership and operations to ensure contracted details, guest preferences, and special requests are clearly communicated and delivered.
- Create smooth handoffs between sales and operations so guests do not have to repeat information or manage details themselves.
- Develop packages, partnerships, and promotions that increase demand and enhance the guest experience.
- Represent the property at industry events, networking opportunities, trade shows, community events, and client meetings.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, booking patterns, and guest feedback to identify opportunities and adjust strategy.
- Support the property’s digital presence, promotional calendar, email marketing, social media, public relations, and content strategy.
- Coordinate with internal or external marketing partners to ensure messaging and creative materials accurately represent the property and brand.
- Protect the integrity of the guest experience by setting clear expectations and ensuring all commitments are operationally achievable.
- Develop repeat and referral business through consistent follow-up and meaningful client relationships.
- Respond to clients and prospective guests promptly, professionally, and with a sense of urgency.
- Maintain accurate client records, contracts, sales activity, and account information.
- Participate in budgeting, revenue planning, and leadership meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the property’s success.
