At Atlantic Emergency Solutions, our Recruiter plays a key role in helping us find and hire talented employees who support first responders throughout our organization. This position manages candidates through the recruiting and hiring process while also actively identifying new ways to reach qualified candidates. The Recruiter will build relationships, develop candidate pipelines, and help ensure applicants receive consistent communication throughout the process.


Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • No rotating shifts
  • Paid holidays (no waiting period)

Work Environment:

  • In office, Yorktown, VA
  • Primarily an office environment with travel to career fairs, recruiting events, and company locations as needed
  • Collaborative team environment supporting multiple locations and hiring managers


Key Job Duties:

  • Managing candidates through the recruiting, interview, offer, and onboarding process
  • Coordinating with hiring managers and maintaining consistent candidate communication
  • Responding to recruiting calls and candidate questions
  • Monitoring open positions and adjusting recruiting strategies when needed
  • Proactively sourcing candidates through Indeed, job boards, social media, networking, and referrals
  • Developing talent pipelines and maintaining relationships with qualified potential candidates
  • Building recruiting relationships with schools, workforce organizations, military programs, career centers, and other community resources
  • Attending career fairs, recruiting events, and traveling to support difficult-to-fill locations
  • Researching local job markets and identifying new recruiting resources
  • Maintaining accurate applicant tracking system records and tracking recruiting activity and results
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws
Requirements

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Previous recruiting or Human Resources experience preferred
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems, preferably Paylocity, and recruiting platforms such as Indeed
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple openings, candidates, and deadlines
  • Ability to build professional relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and recruiting resources
  • Ability to travel as needed and pass pre-employment screening

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • This role is primarily office-based and includes computer and telephone work throughout the day
  • The position may require occasional standing, walking, bending, stooping, and attendance at recruiting events
  • Travel will be required for career fairs, company meetings, school visits, recruiting activities, and support in difficult-to-fill markets
