Plant Operator

General Summary: The Plant Operator is responsible for the safe operation of a Sand and Gravel processing plant in order to maximize the production of sand and gravel for the construction industry. A Plant Operator is responsible for daily production reporting and assists with basic maintenance activities including greasing and lubricating process equipment, plant housekeeping and machinery maintenance and repair.


Essential Functions: 

· Perform routine inspection and maintenance on plant equipment.

· Ability to be able to assist with plant repairs, maintenance and housekeeping.

· Maintain material quality.

· Maintains constant awareness of safety, efficiency and displays a flexibility and out of the box thinking with the capability to solve problems.

· Communicate production and maintenance needs to plant management.

· Other duties as assigned.


Job Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

· Day shift position, must be willing to work overtime and weekends as necessary.

· Prior experience operating aggregate plant.

· Experience with aggregate screens, conveyors, material washers-scrubbers and centrifugal pumps a plus.

· Must have basic computer skills and be able to perform plant record keeping.

· Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.


Work Environment

· Perform all work in accordance with YBP Safety policies.

· The work is performed outdoors and/or indoors, enduring heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements.

· Capable of operating various types of heavy equipment and/or machinery. 


Physical Demands

· Physical demands include but are not limited to walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.


Travel

· May be required to work at various facilities
