What You’ll Be Doing (The Big Picture)

As our Network Administrator, you are the backbone of our client infrastructure and internal connectivity! You’ll act as a key technical problem solver, taking escalation calls, resolving incident tickets, and performing active monitoring across firewalls, switches, and wireless systems. From debugging complex traffic in Wireshark and configuring VLANs/LAGs to occasionally heading on-site in Florida for deployments and hardware replacements, you’ll be a true hero in keeping critical networks running smoothly.

Your Core Responsibilities

1. Incident Resolution & Hands-On Troubleshooting

• Provide expert remote and on-site assistance for network technology issues, taking helpdesk calls and managing tickets through timely resolution.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting on firewalls, switches, and wireless systems, including Wireshark packet analysis, static/dynamic routing, and IPSec VPN tunnels.
• Debug firewall traffic, build secure firewall policies, and manage CLI concepts across Fortinet and Ruckus environments.

2. Network Deployments & Site Support

• Support ongoing technology implementations, network upgrades, and hardware/software assessments.
• Build and manage VLANs, LAGs, and switch stacks to support evolving client and internal needs.
• Travel locally within Florida for equipment replacements, cable/wiring work, and physical installations as needed.

3. Proactive Monitoring & System Hygiene

• Monitor corporate technology and alert systems to maintain strict SLAs and prevent downtime before it happens.
• Maintain squeaky-clean documentation, updating customer service requests and configuration records as changes occur.
• Stay current on emerging network technologies and share best practices with the broader technical team.

The Workspace & Physical Environment

This position is primarily remote with required local travel within the state of Florida for client installations, hardware replacements, and site assessments. You should be comfortable managing multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously from a home office desk, while also possessing the physical capability to perform on-site duties (such as climbing ladders up to 30 feet, lifting equipment up to 120 lbs, and pulling wire/cables). Occasional work beyond standard hours, including nights or weekends, may be required during emergency maintenance or major deployments.

What You Bring to the Table

• Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED required (Associate Degree preferred), along with 2–3 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining network environments.
• Core Technical Expertise: Solid experience with VLANs, LAGs, switch stacks, static/dynamic routing, IPSec VPN tunnels, and CLI management.
• Deep Diagnostics: Proficiency in reading Wireshark data, debugging firewall traffic, and securing firewall policies.
• Preferred Vendor Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Fortinet and Ruckus systems is highly preferred.
• Customer-First Mindset: Outstanding customer service and communication skills with a focus on delivering a great client experience.
• Driver Requirements: Valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance with minimum coverage of $50,000 Injury / $100,000 Liability for local site visits.
