Business Unit Manager (BUM) - Parts
Description

This position is responsible for the overall commercial and financial results of the Parts Business Unit within the Jet Parts Engineering (JPE) group of companies. The Parts Business Unit delivers FAA/EASA approved parts to the commercial aftermarket directly to airlines and MRO customers worldwide. The Business Unit Manager (BUM) owns Profit and Loss accountability for the Parts business and is charged with driving consistent year-over-year growth while exceeding customer expectations. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, this is a commercially focused role where most of the time will be spent coordinating with the Sales Team and others on improving customer relations, value-based pricing, contract review and negotiation, and new business development. This position is in-office at JPE’s headquarters in Seattle, WA and is a key development position with a clear path to promotion into senior management.

Requirements
  • · Own Profit and Loss accountability for the Parts Business Unit; achieve bookings, sales, and EBITDA objectives.
  • · Drive consistent value creation through profitable new business, value-based pricing, and productivity.
  • · Execute a Business Unit strategy that delivers year-over-year growth in revenue and profitability.
  • · Identify, prioritize, and secure profitable new business, including new PMA part development on both existing and new platforms with a special emphasis on utilizing targeted manufacturing capabilities.
  • · Lead contract review and negotiation, including long-term agreements, pricing agreements, and purchasing agreements.
  • · Conduct regular pricing analysis to ensure market-based pricing across the portfolio.
  • · Prepare and execute a comprehensive Annual Operating Plan for the Business Unit.
  • · Develop and present Quarterly Business Reviews for executive management.
  • · Supports the sales team in developing and maintaining strong customer relationships to drive long-term growth and customer satisfaction.
  • · Leverage business intelligence and sales analytics to track market, product, and customer performance and inform decisions.
  • · Foster a performance-oriented, entrepreneurial ownership culture with high accountability and a bias for action.
  • · Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

1. Minimum of 5 years of total experience, including roles of increasing responsibility

2. Experience in aviation, aerospace, or a highly engineered manufacturing or distribution environment strongly preferred.

3. Experience leading direct reports and/or a cross-functional team preferred but not required.

4. Demonstrated P&L, pricing, or commercial ownership experience preferred.

5. Results-oriented self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial ownership culture, with a strong sense of urgency and bias for action.

6. Data-driven with strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail.

7. Solid business acumen with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple items.

8. Exhibits leadership abilities including high accountability and influence; leads by example while exhibiting a collective sense of purpose.

9. Effective, open, and honest communicator with solid interpersonal skills, both oral and written.

10. Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and comfortable working across CRM and business intelligence systems.

11. Ability to travel 25% to 40%.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university or college required; technical degree preferred but not required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Salaried position, commensurate with experience, with performance-based incentive compensation.

Salary Description
$150,000.00
