Collections Representative (onsite/hybrid in Leominster, MA)
Description

The Collections Representative performs a variety of collection activities in conformance with established Credit Union policies and procedures.

  1.  Reviews and identifies delinquent accounts with the Collection queues, specifically consumer loans.
  2.  Collects on delinquent loans by making contact by telephone or correspondence, maintaining accurate and detailed notes on the loan to include conversations, payment arrangements, actions taken, as well as attempted contacts with the member. 
  3.  Works with delinquent borrowers to reach a mutual agreement for workouts and repayment arrangements by telephone or correspondence while providing excellent member service and maintaining member confidentiality.
  4.  Contacts members regarding returned payments, payment shortages, 1st payment defaults, and returns member voicemails as needed.
  5.  Reviews and recommends repossession as necessary to the AVP Collections.
  6.  Researches disputed balances, payments and credit bureau issues.
  7.  Records bankruptcy notices and updates all loan codes in a timely and accurate manner. 
  8.  Works with third party collection agencies that handle credit union charged off accounts and communicates any information required to assist with collection.

This position is eligible to work remotely up to 2 days per week after 3 months of hire in accordance with the Work From Home Policy. 


The salary range for this role is between $21.57 - $26.96.  Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors as permitted by law.



Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent. One to three year’ prior collections experience and/or experience working in a financial institution. Strong attention to detail, well developed communication, negotiation, and organizational skills required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Ability to utilize standard office equipment, including PC. Bi-lingual in Spanish is preferred. Candidates should expect to rotate Saturday mornings 9:00 – 12:00.
