About the Role 

The HRIS Integration Coordinator owns the end-to-end integration lifecycle for assigned customer accounts, serving as the primary technical point of contact for HRIS/payroll integration projects. This role combines deep technical expertise across multiple HRIS platforms with strong customer relationship management, leading complex integration implementations, managing ongoing data sync operations, and continuously improving integration processes and documentation. 


Key Responsibilities 


Customer Integration Ownership 

  • Own the complete integration lifecycle for assigned customers from initial scoping through post-launch support 
  • Lead integration scoping calls and technical discovery sessions with customer HRIS/payroll teams 
  • Design and configure census and payroll data mappings based on customer requirements and benefits eligibility rules 
  • Conduct integration testing, validation, and user acceptance testing with customers 
  • Serve as primary escalation point for complex customer integration issues 
  • Manage customer relationships and expectations throughout onboarding and ongoing support 

Technical Implementation & API Management 

  • Build and configure both assisted (file-based) and API-based integrations with multiple HRIS vendors 
  • Lead Flexspring API integration rollouts, including testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting 
  • Design custom data transformations and field-level mapping logic to meet unique customer needs 
  • Implement and test advanced integration features (e.g., ignore/notify functionality, field-level overrides) 
  • Troubleshoot complex data discrepancies, formatting issues, and integration failures 
  • Collaborate with Engineering team on internal system enhancements, bug fixes, and platform improvements 

Process Improvement & Documentation 

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive SOPs for HRIS integration processes 
  • Build and expand the HRIS System Knowledge Hub with platform-specific best practices and quirks 
  • Document system-specific nuances across HRIS platforms (ADP, Paychex, UKG, Paycom, Rippling, etc.) 
  • Create testing protocols and validation checklists for new integration types 
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead implementation of efficiency gains 
  • Train and mentor junior HRIS team members on integration methodologies and tools 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with Account Management team on customer onboarding timelines and expectations 
  • Support Technical Implementation Specialists with complex eligibility and census questions 
  • Collaborate with Engineering on design, integration architecture, and technical roadmap 
  • Work to resolve urgent payroll and census processing issues 
  • Participate in customer success initiatives & quarterly business reviews 

Strategic Analysis & Reporting 

  • Monitor integration health and performance metrics across customer portfolio 
  • Conduct root cause analysis on recurring integration issues and implement preventive solutions 
  • Track integration project status and maintain visibility into team workload and capacity 
  • Report on integration trends, platform capabilities, and customer relationship health 
  • Contribute to strategic decisions on integration tooling, partnerships, and team structure  

Required Qualifications 

  • 4+ years of experience in HRIS integration, implementation, or administration roles with increasing responsibility 
  • Deep expertise with multiple HRIS/payroll platforms (ADP, Paychex, UKG, Workday, Paycom, Rippling, BambooHR, etc.) and their API capabilities 
  • Proven track record managing full-cycle HRIS integration projects from scoping through launch 
  • Strong technical aptitude with APIs, data mapping, file formats (CSV, XML, JSON), and integration troubleshooting 
  • Expert knowledge of benefits eligibility rules, census data requirements, and payroll data structures 
  • Experience with customer-facing implementation projects, including scoping, requirements gathering, and change management 
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent integration projects 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing complex data and integration issues 
  • Outstanding communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences, both written and verbal 
  • Self-starter mentality with ability to work independently and drive projects to completion 

Work Arrangement and Compensation 

  • This is a 100% remote position (aligned with US Pacific Time) with an annual salary of $100,000.
