Job Summary

The Sr. SW Engineer leads the architecture, development, integration, and maintenance of Linux-based modem solutions built on Qualcomm SDX platforms. Key responsibilities include Embedded Linux software development, application and device driver development, board bring-up activities, modem feature implementation and validation, and system performance optimization.

This position is reporting to the SW2 Team Leader, and will perform root cause analysis and debugging of complex technical issues while contributing throughout the entire product lifecycle, from requirements definition and design to implementation, validation, and product release. You will collaborate with global engineering teams to enhance product stability, performance, and quality, while providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.

This position will drive the development of next-generation modem products and technologies by leveraging expertise in Embedded Linux, Qualcomm SDX platforms, cellular modem technologies, system architecture, device drivers, and data connectivity solutions.

Objectives & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Linux-based software solutions for Qualcomm SDX modem platforms, including applications, services, and device drivers. 
• Lead board bring-up, hardware integration, platform enablement, and system validation activities. 
• Develop and optimize modem features and data connectivity solutions to meet product and customer requirements. 
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software and system issues across application, middleware, kernel, and driver layers. 
• Drive system integration, feature verification, performance optimization, and product quality improvements throughout the development lifecycle. 
• Contribute to security, reliability, and maintainability through secure software development practices, code reviews, and technical improvements. 
• Collaborate with global engineering teams, provide technical leadership, and mentor engineers to ensure successful project delivery.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Embedded Linux software development and system integration.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Linux-based software development.
• Experience with board bring-up, system integration, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Qualcomm-based platforms and cellular modem technologies.
• Experience with Linux kernel and device driver development.
• Familiarity with data connectivity technologies, including Ethernet, USB networking, MBIM/QMI, routing, and tethering solutions.
• Experience with Yocto, OpenWRT, Git, automation tools, and scripting languages such as Python or Shell.
• Knowledge of modem debugging, security technologies, and secure software development practices.
• Experience in cellular modem platforms and data connectivity solutions.
