Astro Machine Works is seeking a Full-Time Electrical Assembly Technician for our growing team. Hours are flexible Monday-Friday starting between 5AM and 7:30Am and ending between 3:30PM and 5PM, plus overtime.


Role 

The Electrical Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing custom electrical equipment built to customer specifications. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong electrical aptitude, and the ability to identify potential non-conformances during all stages of the build. The Electrical Assembler must work in strict compliance with customer drawings, electrical schematics, and quality standards to ensure every finished product meets or exceeds expectations.


Responsibilities

• Build and wire electrical control panels and custom assemblies
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and detailed specifications
• Install components, route wiring, perform terminations, and assemble cable harnesses
• Use electrical tools such as crimpers, multimeters, gauges, and measuring devices
• Perform electrical testing and functional checkout
• Identify wiring issues or non-conforming conditions and correct them promptly
• Work safely with forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment to move assemblies
• Maintain exceptional workmanship, clean work habits, and compliance with ISO 9001 standards
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams throughout the build process

Requirements
  • 3-5 years experience in electrical panel building and associated wiring
  • Ability to read and comprehend a variety of different types of customer drawings and specifications
  • Proficient with manual and power hand tools, gauges, etc.
  • Flexibility is a must due to the custom nature of our service
  • Ability to safety operate a forklift and overhead cranes including knowledge of rigging with the use of slings, chains, etc.
  • Ability to understand and follow test and checkout procedures while strictly adhering to specified criteria
  • Flexibility to perform millwork, lathe, and grinding procedures during course of assembly on parts requiring alterations
