Vehicle Photographer Job Summary


The Photographer supports auction operations by capturing high-quality images of vehicles for digital auction listings and marketing materials. This role ensures vehicles are photographed accurately and consistently to represent condition and features while supporting online buyer engagement. The Photographer works in fast-paced outdoor lot environments and collaborates with lot operations and digital teams to maintain efficient imaging workflows.

Responsibilities for Vehicle Photographer

  • Captures high-quality photographs of vehicles for digital auction listings using company equipment and standards.
  • Ensures images accurately represent vehicle condition, features, and identifying details.
  • Positions vehicles appropriately and follows imaging guidelines to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Uploads and organizes images in designated systems in accordance with workflow requirements.
  • Maintains photography equipment and reports technical issues promptly.
  • Supports efficient vehicle flow by coordinating with lot staff for staging and movement needs.
  • Identifies and reports visible vehicle damage or discrepancies observed during imaging.
  • Follows safety procedures when working around moving vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintains organized work areas and supports imaging workflow efficiency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

  

Required Skills/Abilities for Vehicle Photographer

  • Demonstrates ability to take clear, well-composed digital photographs.
  • Applies strong attention to detail and visual accuracy.
  • Communicates clearly and works effectively with operational teams.
  • Demonstrates ability to follow imaging standards and workflow processes.
  • Works efficiently in fast-paced, outdoor operational environments.
  • Maintains reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
  • Demonstrates basic computer proficiency for uploading and managing images.
  • Maintains awareness of safety when working in high-traffic areas.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of photography, imaging, or visual documentation experience preferred.
  • Experience in automotive, auctions, dealership, or inventory imaging environments preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods across outdoor lots.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and move around vehicles to capture images.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
