Surgical Technologist
Description

The Operating Room Technician or "scrub" technician is that health team member specifically involved with the instrumentation and technical aspects of the operative event. 

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments and supplies

- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgical procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment

- Ensure all surgical equipment is functioning properly and ready for use

- Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures and supplies used

- Follow strict infection control protocols and safety standards

- Assist with patient positioning and comfort before and after procedures

- Support the surgical team in maintaining a clean and organized work environment


Skills and Qualifications:

- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential

- Prior experience in an ambulatory surgery center or hospital setting preferred

- Knowledge of surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and aseptic procedures

- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment under pressure

- Good communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care

- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and procedures
