The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking a Mental Health Technician - PT to be the newest member of our innovative interdisciplinary team. The Crisis Stabilization Mental Health Tech will work collaboratively with a team to provide care to clients on an outpatient and inpatient basis. They will assist in the general monitoring and care of the clients, as well as daily operations and housekeeping of the unit. They will act as a liaison in providing information to internal as well as external parties and agencies. Weekends Required;Evenings Required (1+ days per week after 5 p);Saturday and Sunday 8 AM to 8 PM + Tuesday 4 PM to 12 AM

Primary Duties:
- Provide 1-1 supportive care based on client’s needs, including hygiene, nutrition, and medication, while maintaining appropriate documentation.
- Act as a resource to client for activities to facilitate increased stability in functioning.
- Initiate de-escalation procedures when appropriate, consistent with MANDT and Mental Health First Aid procedures.
- Provide accurate and relevant feedback to providers to ensure optimal patient care.
- Participate in daily treatment team meetings.
- Maintain unit through regular housekeeping duties.
- Respond across Leavenworth, Atchison and Jefferson County as part of a 2-person team, providing mobile crisis interventions to a variety of individuals in crisis.
- Engaging individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis by building rapport, assessing motivation, and encouraging participation in services.
- Using a Strengths Based perspective to assess individuals' circumstances to identify needs and/or determine resource eligibility.
- Initiate de-escalation procedures when appropriate, consistent with MANDT and Mental Health First Aid procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 21 years of age, and have an Associate of Arts / Science degree, or two years of equivalent education and or experience working in the human services field.
