Description

The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator will focus on completing daily tasks with the assistance of daily check lists to help cover all/most aspects of the job. The candidate for this position must be able to answer any questions related to shipping and receiving, in addition to actively pursuing ways to implement new training while focusing on continuous improvement. The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator will work closely the Purchasing Agent as the two jobs will support each other. Attention to detail is a must. This position is key to the customer transition from the initial purchase, ensuring best pricing, expediting delivery, and ensuring correct customer orders for a satisfactory experience. 

Responsibilities

  • Schedules warehouse personnel activities and handling of vendor phone calls and emails
  • Assists warehouse personnel with delivery, scanner, and inventory issues
  • Helps coordinate the processing of customer orders
  • Coordinates workflow to accomplish daily-targeted goals and handles general employee inquiries
  • Complies with IMS system following all procedures
  • Trains warehouse personnel on the IMS system and ensures their compliance

Requirements

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • 1-3 years working in an inventory/warehouse/shipping/receiving role
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP system(s)
  • Excellent communications skills 
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Articulate and good telephone manner 
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures 
  • Strong organizational skills
  • High level of computer proficiency 
  • Strong sense of initiative and a “can do” attitude 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Positive attitude and willingness to perform tasks outside this description if asked
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree (not required but a plus)


Experience in the following programs/processes is required

  • Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Adobe Reader and/or Acrobat
