Position Overview:

Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking a Full Time Housekeeping Coordinator to supervise the operation of the housekeeping needs as well as supervisor of housekeeping staff.  As a leader in compassionate, trauma-informed care, Children’s Home Society is committed to fostering equity and inclusion in all aspects of our work.

What You’ll Do:

  • Team Management: Participate in recommendations for hiring of assigned staff. Assign and Monitor staff tasks. Set performance expectations, monitor performance, and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Cleaning Duties: Clean assigned areas including, but not limited to: bedrooms, common areas, bathrooms, dining room, administrative areas, and conference rooms. Ensure assigned areas are cleaned according to standards and in a timely manner. Ensure laundry is completed on a daily basis.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure cleaning supplies inventory is maintained.
  • Safety Management: Report needed repairs or safety hazards immediately to supervisor.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with agency policy and all required regulatory standards.
  • Professional Development: Attend assigned meetings. Participate in required in-service training.
  • Agency Duties: Keep abreast of developments in Agency’s areas of services and expertise.
  • Donation Management: Receive and organize in-kind donations. Stock, organize, and maintain inventory of closets and storage areas, as assigned..

Requirements

Education

  • High school degree required.

Experience

  •  Minimum one year experience in housekeeping and maintenance preferred. 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requires standing for extended periods of time. Some exposure to cleaning chemicals, requiring attentive and safe utilization.
