About the Role
The Director of Business Development is a high-impact role within the Homewise Marketing team responsible for driving strategic partner engagement. You’ll develop partnerships, build relationships with employers and community leaders, and represent Homewise at networking and community events to promote our homebuyer and commercial services.
This role focuses on expanding awareness of Homewise’s programs, creating long-term community and employer partnerships, and increasing participation in public events and educational sessions. You’ll also collaborate with internal teams to coordinate events that strengthen Homewise’s presence and reputation throughout New Mexico.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Developing and leading the implementation of comprehensive community engagement strategies.
- Representing Homewise at community events, expos, and professional gatherings to promote services, establish new connections, and strengthen Homewise’s presence in the community.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with employers, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive and scalable employer partnership framework, including outreach, onboarding, stewardship, communication plans, and performance metrics.
- Conducting Power Hour information sessions and employer presentations to educate the public about Homewise programs and impact.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of targeted programs that address the unique financial and homebuying needs of Homewise audiences throughout New Mexico.
- Ensuring programs and outreach efforts align with Homewise’s strategic plan.
- Collaborating with the Director of Communications to plan and execute Homewise events, including ribbon cuttings, open houses, and educational programs.
- Coordinating with internal teams, including Policy and Advocacy, Homebuyer Education, and Marketing, to support event logistics and community engagement.
- Leading and coordinating Homewise’s participation in tabling and networking events to increase brand awareness and understanding of our services.
- Developing new strategic partnerships with community and business leaders.
- Increasing attendance and participation in public events and employer education sessions.
- Helping execute high-impact community events that increase visibility and reinforce Homewise’s reputation.
- Strengthening Homewise’s position in local and regional markets by increasing awareness of our educational opportunities and homebuyer coaching services.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience in community outreach, event planning, public relations, business development, or a related field.
- Strong public-speaking skills and the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently with little or no supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Windows, and other appropriate software applications.
- On-site presence in the Albuquerque and/or Santa Fe office five days per week.
- Occasional evening and weekend availability for community events.
- Ability to travel locally as needed.
- Ability to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
Preferred Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with graphic design tools or CRM systems.
