MG-IP Law, PC (Muncy, Geissler, Olds & Lowe, PC) is seeking a full-time IP Assistant to support its Intellectual Property practice. This is a fully remote position that offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative, experienced, and highly regarded team.
The successful candidate will assist with a broad range of patent prosecution activities from application filing through patent issuance. Responsibilities include docketing, billing, client correspondence, status checks, and the preparation and filing of documents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Document preparation and filing responsibilities include, but are not limited to, utility, design, provisional, and plant patent applications; original and supplemental Application Data Sheets; assignments and other ownership-related recordation documents; declarations; powers of attorney; chain-of-title documents; priority documents; Information Disclosure Statements; preliminary amendments; sequence listings; English translations; responses to pre-examination and post-allowance formalities notices; requests for corrected Official Filing Receipts; corrective assignments; issue fee payments; responses to Office Actions; terminal disclaimers; extensions of time; Requests for Continued Examination (RCEs); Continued Prosecution Applications (CPAs); Notices of Appeal; Appeal Briefs; Reply Briefs; requests for Certificates of Correction; petitions; maintenance fee submissions; and other patent prosecution documents as needed.
Additional responsibilities include obtaining Information Disclosure Statement references from available online databases, proofreading and formatting documents prepared by attorneys, patent agents, and technical advisors, and ensuring compliance with USPTO requirements and firm procedures.

Applicants should have 2 years of general IP experience and must possess the following skills:
- 2 years of general IP experience, highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Strong organizational and writing skills.
- Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment.
- Sufficiently computer literate and capable in Chrome and Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to lift/carry at least 20 lbs.
Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED certificate. A college degree is a plus.
