About Helix Linear

Helix Linear Technologies designs and manufactures high-precision motion control systems for industries where performance matters most, including aerospace, medical devices, defense, and advanced automation. Our products power mission-critical applications where reliability and precision down to ±0.0001 inches make all the difference.

Our vision is to engineer what’s possible in motion, with precision, integrity, and purpose. We pursue that vision by designing, machining, grinding, and assembling critical motion components in-house, including precision ball screws and linear systems. Our clean, climate-controlled facility is equipped with advanced manufacturing equipment including Citizen Swiss lathes, multi-axis CNC mills, precision grinders, and specialized assembly and test systems.

Helix is growing and investing in new equipment, advanced processes, and the systems required to scale with discipline. As we expand, we’re building a world-class precision manufacturing operation, which means higher standards for ownership, communication, urgency, and accountability across every role on the floor.

Position Summary

Helix Linear Technologies is seeking a driven, technically-minded Sales Engineer to own and grow an assigned sales territory. You'll partner with design engineers and procurement teams to understand application requirements, recommend the right linear motion solution, and guide opportunities from first contact through closed order.

This role blends technical consultation with relationship-based selling. You'll be the person customers trust to get their application right, and the person Helix trusts to build a territory that grows. This is a 100% onsite position based at Helix Linear Technologies headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

Territory & Pipeline

  • Own and manage a defined sales territory, building a healthy pipeline of new and repeat business.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities through outbound prospecting and inbound lead follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date opportunity and account records in the CRM, with regular forecasting and pipeline updates.

Technical Consultation

  • Partner with customers' engineering teams to understand application requirements and recommend appropriate lead screw, ball screw, or linear actuator solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver technical proposals, quotes, and product recommendations tailored to customer specifications.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, application support, and operations to confirm proposed solutions are feasible and deliverable on time.
  • Stay current on Helix's product line, capabilities, and competitive landscape.

Sales Execution

  • Nurture opportunities through every stage of the sales cycle; from initial inquiry and technical qualification through quoting, negotiation, and close.
  • Follow up proactively on quotes and open opportunities to keep deals moving toward close.
  • Build long-term, trusted customer relationships that support repeat business and account growth.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in sales engineering, applications engineering, or technical sales, ideally within motion control, automation, or industrial components.
  • Strong ability to read technical drawings and specifications and translate customer requirements into product recommendations.
  • Demonstrated success managing a sales territory and moving opportunities through a defined sales process.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both engineers and business stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and general sales pipeline management practices.
  • Self-motivated and organized, comfortable managing multiple active opportunities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work 100% onsite at Helix Linear Technologies headquarters.
  • Prior experience selling lead screws, ball screws, linear actuators, or related motion control components (a nice to have).
  • Familiarity with CAD software for reviewing customer drawings and specifications (a nice to have).

Who you are:

  • Territory owner who treats a pipeline like a system, not a to-do list; you know where every opportunity stands and what it needs to move.
  • Technically fluent, comfortable reading a print and translating an engineer's requirements into the right screw or actuator solution.
  • Relationship builder who earns trust with customers over time, not just at the close.
  • Self-directed and organized, running multiple live deals without dropping the details.
  • Persistent without being pushy; you follow up because you want to win the business the right way.
