The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating manufacturing activities to ensure customer delivery commitments are achieved. This position works closely with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, and Production personnel to manage work orders, material availability, production priorities, and schedule performance.
· Determine manufacturing costs for Production item requests submitted by sales engineers, inside sales, counter sales, or other GT personnel
· Collaborate with purchasing to secure accurate costing for new or non-stock materials, ensuring up-to-date pricing for custom item requests
· Develop and maintain production schedules
· Analyze work orders, capacity, lead times, and material availability
· Release and monitor work orders
· Coordinate with Purchasing to resolve shortages
· Communicate schedule changes
· Review customer drawings
· Maintain bills of material and ERP data
· Monitor production progress and bottlenecks
· Maintain accurate work order records
· Support continuous improvement
· Ensure compliance with company policies
· Perform other duties as assigned
· Review and approve first-article production items, completing all required quality assurance and compliance documentation
· Adhere to all organizational guidelines, including the Employee Handbook, Policy and Procedure Database, and company Quality Policies
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Strong mathematical and analytical skills
· Ability to read blueprints
· Excellent organizational skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Effective communication skills
· Microsoft Office proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
· Manufacturing scheduling experience
· ERP/MRP experience
Knowledge of fabrication and assembly processes
