Description
The Director of Information Technology will manage and direct the organization’s technology strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications and information technology (IT) support functions. This position will provide day-to-day support for the GED technology infrastructure but will also be the technology leader in supporting the technology strategy at various subsidiaries. This position requires the combination of strong technical expertise and understanding of ERP systems in a manufacturing environment, as well as managing vendor relationships.
Requirements
- To coordinate, develop, design, document, and implement GED’s business system– includes business system and CAD/CAM.
- Oversee network, server, cloud, and telecommunications environments.
- Ensure availability, reliability, and performance of all IT systems and services.
- Manage IT service desk operations and establish service level expectations.
- Integration of service technicians, sales personnel, and managers into business system remotely.
- Manage application upgrades, integrations, and optimization initiatives.
- Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.
- Implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Develop and manage annual IT operating and capital budgets
- Standardization of software and hardware purchases.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to improve processes and system utilization.
- Lead IT projects from planning through implementation and post-deployment support.
- Coordinate and or lead user training on software systems.
- Monitor and mitigate cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
- Facilitates IT security audits or investigations.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and managed service providers.
- Manage software licensing, hardware procurement, and technology contracts
- Coordinates multi-site IT systems via enterprise resource planning (ERP).
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Information Systems
- Minimum 10 years of experience including systems design, development, implementation, and documentation, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, Oracle, Infor, Epicor, NetSuite or other similar systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in latest technology for IT systems and management.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure or similar software, cloud technologies, cybersecurity frameworks.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Good analytical and management skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Through understanding of IT and practical applications to support the company’s goals.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Onsite position with travel obligations to subsidiary sites and potential acquisitions. Other travel may be required.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
